Why was my listing removed?

Find the reason for a removed Theatr listing, learn how to correct it, and know when to contact Support.

When a listing is taken down, its remaining tickets are no longer available for new purchases. Open the listing to see why it was removed and what to do next. We’ll also email you the information.

How do I find the reason?

  1. In the Theatr app, go to Orders → Sell and select the Manage tab.

  2. Open the listing marked Action Needed.

  3. Read the explanation shown on the listing page. It identifies the issue and any corrections needed.

Action Needed can also appear before a listing goes live. If the message says We need more information, the listing needs a correction before it can be published.

How do I correct and republish my listing?

If the message asks you to correct the listing information or proof of purchase:

  1. Tap Update Listing.

  2. Make the changes requested in the explanation. Replace or update your proof of purchase if requested.

  3. Review the details and tap Publish.

Update the existing listing rather than creating a duplicate to get around the removal. Theatr will review the changes. Check the listing’s status: In Review means the review is underway, and Looking for buyer means it is available for sale. If more changes are needed, read the updated explanation.

Only tickets that are still valid, unsold, and eligible can be relisted. For expired listings or a deactivated Instant E-Ticket Transfer listing with some tickets already sold, see Reactivate or Republish an Unsold Listing on Theatr.

What if the message says the event is outside the United States?

Theatr currently supports events in the US only. If the event is outside the US, updating your proof of purchase will not make it eligible. Do not select a different venue to get around this restriction.

If the event is actually in the US, contact Support with the venue’s name, address, and the message you received so we can check its location. The team needs to review the venue information before you try again.

The same applies if you see This event can’t be listed while trying to publish for the first time. That message is a publication block; it does not mean an existing listing was removed.

Why might a listing need a correction?

Common reasons include:

  • The asking price is above the amount originally paid per ticket, including fees, or the price paid does not match the proof of purchase.

  • The proof is missing, unreadable, or does not show a completed purchase, the amount paid, or enough information to identify the event.

  • The event, date, time, or seat details do not match the proof of purchase.

  • A scannable ticket barcode or QR code is visible in the proof.

  • The listing asks buyers to contact the seller or arrange payment outside Theatr.

  • An important ticket restriction or eligibility detail is missing or inaccurate.

Follow the explanation on your own listing. A buyer report does not automatically cause removal; we review the listing and available information before taking action.

What happens to orders already placed?

Removing a listing stops new purchases of its remaining tickets. It does not automatically cancel orders already placed.

Open the existing order under Orders → Sell to check its status and any required action. If the reason for removal affects your ability to fulfill that order, contact Support with the order details.

What if I think the removal was a mistake?

Go to Profile → Settings → Contact Us and select the affected listing. Include the removal message and explain why you believe the information is correct. We’ll review it and let you know what to do next.

Does a removed listing mean my account is restricted?

A listing removal does not by itself mean your account is warned or suspended. Removal because a venue is outside the US is not a seller violation. We’ll notify you separately if an action applies to your account.
