Reactivate or Republish an Unsold Listing on Theatr

Find the steps to reactivate a listing or update one marked Action Needed, and check which tickets can be relisted.

The steps to put your unsold tickets back on sale depend on the listing’s status:

  • You deactivated it: open the listing and check for Activate.

  • It shows Action Needed: read the message to find out what needs attention before the tickets can go on sale.

  • The listed event time has passed: the listing has expired and can’t be reactivated.

What should I check before relisting?

  • The event is still upcoming and takes place in the New York City area. Your tickets are valid and haven’t been sold, refunded or promised to another buyer.

  • The event, date, time, seats and remaining quantity are correct.

  • The delivery method and expected transfer time are correct, and you can transfer the tickets before the performance.

  • The price is at or below what you paid per ticket, including fees. The Proof of Purchase images buyers can see show the price and event details, with ticket barcodes, QR codes and unnecessary personal information hidden.

Make any changes before putting the listing back on sale.

How do I reactivate a listing I deactivated?

  1. Open Orders → Sell and select the Manage tab.

  2. Find the deactivated listing under In Progress and open it.

  3. On the listing page, tap Manage → Activate.

If you need to change any details first, select Manage → Edit, make the changes, and tap Update. Saving changes this way also reactivates an eligible deactivated listing.

If Theatr has asked for more information, follow the Action Needed steps below. You’ll still need to address that request before the listing can go back on sale, even if you deactivated it yourself.

How do I republish a listing marked Action Needed?

Go to Orders → Sell → Manage and open the listing marked Action Needed. Read the message, including any instructions for additional documents.

If the message says the event is outside the New York City area, changing the proof of purchase won’t resolve it. Theatr currently supports events in this area only. If the event is actually within the supported area, contact Support with the venue’s name, address and the message you received so we can check it.

If the message asks for corrections or additional documents, update the same listing:

  1. Tap Update Listing.

  2. Make the requested changes. If you need to send additional documents, see how to upload proof for the review team.

  3. Check the details, then tap Publish to submit for review.

After submitting, check the listing’s status. In Review means it’s being reviewed and isn’t available to buyers yet. Looking for buyer means it’s live. If more changes are requested, read the new message before updating it again.

If you only see This listing is closed when opening the listing from your profile, open it from Orders → Sell → Manage instead. If you’ve checked there and still can’t find the message or Update Listing button, contact Support with the listing details and a screenshot. If you already have a conversation with us, send the details there.

Why can’t I reactivate an expired listing?

A listing expires once its listed performance time has passed. If you try to edit or activate it, the app shows The ticket has expired.

You can’t reactivate an expired listing or change it to a different performance. If you have separate, eligible tickets for a future event, create a new listing for those tickets.

What if some tickets in an Instant E-Ticket Transfer listing already sold?

Once any tickets in an Instant E-Ticket Transfer listing have sold, you can’t edit or reactivate that listing after deactivating it.

To sell the remaining eligible tickets, create a new listing and upload only the unsold ticket files. Leave out any tickets already delivered to a buyer. If Theatr has told you a ticket isn’t eligible for sale, you can’t relist it until that issue is resolved.

What if I no longer want to sell the tickets?

If the listing is active, deactivate it so another buyer can’t purchase the tickets. See How do I deactivate my listing? for the steps and what to do if you can’t find the option.

If your listing shows Action Needed, the tickets aren’t currently available to buyers. If you no longer want to sell and can’t find Deactivate, contact Support with the listing details so we can check its status. You don’t need to make the requested changes or resubmit the listing.

Deactivating a listing declines pending offers but doesn’t cancel existing paid orders. If someone has already bought those tickets on Theatr, don’t sell or promise them to another buyer.
