How to Resell and Transfer Ticketmaster Tickets

Learn how to resell and transfer Ticketmaster tickets on Theatr, confirm buyer acceptance, upload transfer proof, and handle delivery delays.

Ticketmaster tickets can be resold on Theatr when they are eligible for transfer.

Before listing Ticketmaster tickets

  • Open the order in Ticketmaster and confirm that Transfer is available.

  • Check the order, confirmation email, and event page for a delivery delay or organizer restriction.

  • Verify the event, date, time, section, row, seats, and quantity.

  • Confirm that every ticket you intend to sell can be selected for transfer.

  • Do not rely on a screenshot of a moving or refreshing Ticketmaster barcode.

  • Upload proof of purchase showing the price paid and event details, with all ticket barcodes and personal information covered.

Some VIP benefits, merchandise, insurance, and other extras associated with an order may not transfer with the ticket.

How to list Ticketmaster tickets on Theatr

  1. Start creating your listing on Theatr.

  2. Upload your proof of purchase.

  3. Select Ticketmaster as the ticket source.

  4. Under Handoff Method, choose Via original platform.

  5. Select the most accurate Expected Transfer Timing.

  6. Complete the listing details and tap Publish.

Choose Transfer right away only if the Ticketmaster transfer is already available and you can complete it promptly after the sale.

If Ticketmaster indicates that transfer will become available closer to the event, choose a timing that accurately reflects that delay.

How the seller transfers Ticketmaster tickets

After the tickets sell:

  1. Open the order under Orders → Sell in Theatr.

  2. Contact the buyer to confirm the email address or phone number on their Ticketmaster account.

  3. Sign in to the Ticketmaster account used to purchase the tickets.

  4. Open My Tickets and select the event.

  5. Select Transfer and complete any identity-verification prompt.

  6. Select only the tickets included in the Theatr order.

  7. Enter the buyer’s email address or phone number.

  8. Review the recipient and seats, then confirm the transfer.

  9. If Ticketmaster opens a prepared text or WhatsApp message, make sure you send it.

  10. Ask the buyer to accept the tickets.

After Ticketmaster shows Accepted by or Claimed:

  1. Return to the Theatr order.

  2. Tap I have transferred the tickets.

  3. Under Upload transfer proof, upload a screenshot showing the accepted or claimed transfer and the relevant tickets.

  4. Tap Upload.

Only mark the tickets as transferred after the buyer has accepted them and can access them in their Ticketmaster account.

How the buyer accepts Ticketmaster tickets

The buyer should:

  1. Open the Ticketmaster transfer invitation sent by email, text, or WhatsApp.

  2. Select Accept Tickets or follow the sign-in link.

  3. Sign in to an existing Ticketmaster account or create one.

  4. If the invitation was sent by email, use the same email address that received the transfer.

  5. Open My Tickets and confirm that every purchased ticket appears with the correct event and seat information.

The transfer is not complete merely because the invitation was sent. The buyer must follow the invitation and claim the tickets.

What if the Ticketmaster transfer is pending?

A transfer marked Waiting to accept or Sent has not been completed.

Ask the buyer to:

  • Check their email, spam, and junk folders.

  • Search their text or WhatsApp messages for the transfer invitation.

  • Sign in to the Ticketmaster account connected to the transfer address or phone number.

  • Check whether the tickets are held in a separate team or venue account.

The seller can resend the invitation when Ticketmaster provides that option. A pending transfer can also be canceled and sent again to the correct recipient.

Once the buyer accepts the transfer, the seller can no longer cancel it through the standard Ticketmaster transfer flow.

What if Ticketmaster has not enabled Transfer yet?

Ticketmaster may delay access to a ticket or restrict transfer for a particular event, venue, artist, or ticket type.

If the tickets sell before transfer becomes available:

  1. Open the Theatr order under Orders → Sell.

  2. Tap I can’t make the transfer right now.

  3. Contact the buyer and agree on when the transfer will be completed.

  4. Return to the order and tap I’ve confirmed with the buyer.

  5. Upload a screenshot showing that the buyer agreed to the timing.

  6. Submit the delayed-transfer confirmation.

  7. Transfer the tickets as soon as Ticketmaster enables the feature.

  8. Wait for the buyer to accept them.

  9. Return to Theatr and upload proof of the completed transfer.

Confirming a delayed transfer does not mean the tickets have been delivered. You must still complete the Ticketmaster transfer and submit final proof in Theatr.

If Ticketmaster confirms that the tickets will not become transferable, contact the buyer immediately and cancel the Theatr order before marking the tickets as transferred. If the delayed-transfer confirmation has already been submitted and the cancellation option is unavailable, contact Theatr Support.

Can I use Instant E-Ticket Transfer?

Do not use Instant E-Ticket Transfer for a Ticketmaster mobile ticket with a moving or refreshing barcode. Ticketmaster states that these barcodes refresh automatically and that screenshots will not provide entry.

Instant E-Ticket Transfer may be used only if Ticketmaster supplied an eligible static PDF or Print-at-Home ticket that can be shared and the event’s terms allow that form of delivery.

If the ticket is eligible:

  1. Choose Instant E-Ticket Transfer as the handoff method.

  2. Tap Upload My Tix.

  3. Upload the complete PDF or a clear image of every ticket.

  4. Complete and publish the listing.

Theatr will automatically deliver the uploaded files after purchase. You will not need to send or confirm the tickets again.

If the buyer cannot access the tickets

Confirm whether Ticketmaster shows the transfer as Sent or Accepted.

  • If it shows Sent, verify the contact information and resend or cancel the pending transfer.

  • If it shows Accepted, ask the buyer to check the correct Ticketmaster, team, or venue account.

  • If the wrong person accepted the transfer, contact Ticketmaster and Theatr Support immediately.

Keep the Ticketmaster confirmation, acceptance email, and relevant messages until the event has passed.

Transfer options and requirements can change. For the most up-to-date information, see Ticketmaster’s ticket delivery guidance.
