If you bought a ticket on Theatr and can no longer attend, you can resell it by creating a new listing, as long as the ticket is still eligible.
Before you relist
The ticket must be for an upcoming, in-person event in the New York City area.
Confirm that the ticket is still valid and that the original ticketing provider allows you to transfer or deliver it to another buyer. Check any restrictions or release delays.
Don’t relist a ticket that has been canceled, refunded, or used, or that you’ve already sold or transferred to someone else.
What should I use as proof of purchase?
Use a clear screenshot of your Theatr purchase confirmation email showing the event name, date, time, and amount paid. Your proof will be visible on the listing, so cover any ticket barcodes or QR codes and hide personal or payment information buyers don’t need. Keep the purchase details visible.
How much can I resell the ticket for?
Your asking price can be up to the full amount you paid per ticket, including the Theatr service fee from that purchase. If you bought multiple tickets at the same price, divide the order total by the number of tickets. You can also choose a lower asking price.
How do I create the new listing?
Open the app and tap Sell. If the selling overview appears, tap Create listing.
Choose Upload receipt and add your Theatr purchase confirmation.
Review the scanned details against your tickets and confirmation. Check the event, venue, date, time, quantity, seats, and any restrictions, then enter your original cost and asking price per ticket.
Select a Handoff Method you can complete. For Instant E-Ticket Transfer, upload the actual ticket files with visible, scannable barcodes. Use another method if the barcode changes or the tickets require an official platform transfer. For other methods, select an accurate Expected Transfer Timing.
Choose your payout method, review the listing, and tap Publish. Check the resulting status; a submitted listing may still be under review.
Keep the ticket available while the listing is live. If it sells elsewhere or you can no longer provide it, deactivate the listing promptly.

What happens after the ticket sells?
Once the buyer has paid, open the new order under Orders → Sell.
Instant E-Ticket Transfer: Your uploaded tickets are delivered automatically. You don’t need to send them again or mark them as transferred.
Other handoff methods: Follow the order’s buyer details and delivery instructions. After the buyer has access to the tickets, tap I have transferred the ticket(s) and upload proof of the handoff.
