Can I sell Broadway lottery and rush tickets?

Learn when lottery and rush tickets can be listed and how to deliver them to the buyer.

Yes. Once you’ve received your lottery or rush tickets, you can list them on Theatr as long as they:

  • Are for an upcoming event

  • Can be transferred or handed to the buyer

  • Are priced at or below what you paid, including fees

  • Have proof of purchase showing the price paid per ticket and the event date and time

Digital tickets

Digital lottery or rush tickets can be uploaded for Instant E-Ticket Transfer if you have the complete ticket as a screenshot or PDF with a visible, scannable barcode or QR code.

You can also transfer the tickets through the original ticketing platform if that option is available.

Tickets that are locked to the original purchaser’s account and can’t be transferred shouldn’t be listed.

Box office pickup

Some lottery and rush tickets are available only at the box office. Before listing, check whether the venue requires the original purchaser’s ID.

If ID is required, you can:

  • Pick up the tickets yourself and hand them to the buyer

  • Ask the box office whether the pickup name can be changed

Choose the delivery method and timing that accurately describe how the buyer will receive the tickets.

For more information, see Will the box office check ID at pickup?.

Paper tickets

Paper rush or lottery tickets can be handed to the buyer in person after you pick them up. Include the expected pickup and handoff timing in your listing.

Pricing and proof of purchase

Set your asking price at or below the amount you paid per ticket, including fees. If you received the ticket at a discounted lottery or rush price, use that amount rather than the ticket’s regular face value.

Your proof of purchase should show:

  • The price paid per ticket

  • The event date

  • The event time

Fully cover any barcodes or QR codes in your proof of purchase before uploading it.
